To all our valued Suppliers:
As you know Hooker has been changing the way they order replacement parts so that they can better service their customers. In order to do that have begun to order 2% of placement parts for all on going items and 4% for new production parts. Once they all parts in inventory we hope that this will reduce the daily parts needs that we are facing today.
Many of you have been very helpful in shipping the needed parts, and Planex and Hooker greatly appreciate your cooperation. We all know it is an expense, but it is an important part of doing business. In the near future, the replacement parts will be listed on the Purchase orders when they are placed. Each part will have an individual part will be tied into the computer and the Hooker inventory. Parts that are not properly marked will not be entered into inventory and will cause a chargeback to be issued.
In an effort to make sure that the parts are sorted out properly at the Hooker warehouse, we need to have them packaged properly. Each piece and/or set must be marked with the correct part number, description and part order number ( if available ). Then these smaller packages are to be placed in a larger carton that is clearly marked REPLACEMENT PARTS ( include the parts order numbers, item numbers and descriptions).
If the parts are not individually identified, then HO will not be able to keep track of them and get them to the correct customers. This causes delays, which causes chargebacks.
We will need you to send a picture of the packed parts for each container so that it can be documented that they were shipped. The parts MUST be included with the order they were placed with. If for some reason they are offloaded, it is important that we be advised immediately so that we can advise the client and make other arrangements for the shipment of those parts.
Hooker is reviewing all factories and giving everyone a grade on their performance. This includes quality, on time delivery, replacement parts and cooperation. So far, I am sad to say that almost everyone failed in the parts department. Hooker will not continue to work with factories that do not improve and meet the Hooker’s New Standards.
