How to apply
As well as applying through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), to apply to Cambridge you must complete a Cambridge Application Form (CAF). Both forms will go to a Cambridge College that will consider your application.

Cambridge Application Forms
The Cambridge Application Form (CAF), together with comprehensive instructions can be downloaded below. CAFs are also available from your school/college, any Cambridge College or the Cambridge Admissions Office (CAO). There are special versions of the CAF for mature and affiliated applicants. There are also separate forms for music awards applicants, the Cambridge Graduate Medicine course and the Cambridge Special Access Scheme.

If you think you may wish to change Tripos, please indicate this on the form, as you might be invited for interviews with tutors from both subjects. This is particularly important if you are interested in a subject not offered as a first-year course.

Once you have completed your CAF you should either return it to your chosen College or to CAO if you are making an open application. Please remember that both the CAF and the UCAS application need to be submitted by 15 October 2006.

If you are applying for Medicine or Veterinary Medicine you must enter for the BMAT by 29 September 2006. If you are applying for Law, you must enter for the LNAT before submitting your CAF. In both cases you will be given a registration number that must be entered on your CAF and on your UCAS forms before you send them. (See admissions tests for details.)

Applying to UCAS
Applications to UCAS are made online using their web-based application package, 'Apply' (www.ucas.ac.uk/apply/). On your UCAS application you need to include the institution code for the university to which you wish to apply. The institution code for the University of Cambridge is CAM C05. You must also enter a ‘campus’ code in the ‘choices’ section of your application. For an open application you should enter ‘9’. For College UCAS campus codes, look at the additional info page of the College in which you are interested, in the Colleges section.

Your school or college will be able to advise you about the application process they use and should have copies of all the materials you will need. If you have left school or college or are a resident abroad you should contact UCAS for more information:
