《In The Flat Field》 BAUHAUS

首先推荐的是Bauhaus的首张专辑“In The Flat Field”是在单曲"Bela Lugosi`Dead"发行后不久推出的，那时的Murphy和其他的乐队成员恐怕还没把自己摆在一个歌特组合的位置上。也许许多人并不喜欢“In The Flat Field”，认为专辑中的歌曲过分的弱拍。以我个人的观点“In The Flat Field”和后来的“Mask"一样确属于Bauhaus的杰作，音乐黑暗但具可舞性，专辑中的作品反映出Bauhaus式独特的幽默感。

《 Unknown Pleasures》 Joy Division

出版的每一部作品都是精华之作。乐队成立初期Warsaw时代的风格属于受到Sex Pistol影响下的黑色朋克，Joy Division逐渐从原始粗糙中接近于内省式的歌特。最具代表性的专辑Unknown Pleasures 中Ian Curtis创作了大量的概念模糊但具有想象力的歌曲。这张专辑一直延续着Cutis对死亡渴望的主题。Joy Division严格意义上不能称作一支歌特乐队，但音乐本身对之后的歌特风格的影响深远，音乐的黑色是的相通性的。

《FloodLand》 Sisters of Mercy

这个名字已经成为许多人心目中歌特音乐最好的代言人，而来自于英国利兹的乐队主唱Andrew Eldrich理所当然的成为歌特音乐王国中王子的角色。87年的专辑Floodland以个人的观点是Sisters of Mercy大师之作，在键盘和鼓机的衬托下专辑带有着完全歌特化音乐的特色，而歌词方面低调但却显示出自命不凡。无疑Sisters of Mercy是歌特音乐史坐标中最亮的一点。

《 Faith》 THE CURE

感谢Cure和英国人把"Gothic"这个词介绍给了世界。Cure成立初期有些和Banshees类似（Robert Smith曾参加过Banshees的巡演）。乐队在走出朋克的泥潭后音乐风格趋向歌特化，死亡和孤独的黑暗，阴郁的主题迷漫在他们的三张最佳专辑： Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornog

《But, What Ends When the Symbols Shatter?》 Death In June

《 Once Upon a Time 》 Siouxsie and the Banshees

Severin的独特的编曲和Sioux的嗓音构成了后期最美的音乐。Siouxsie and the Banshees的专辑每一张风格都在变都在进步，从朋克到优美的爱情歌曲，从这点来讲并不是每个人都能接受。在这里推荐的是单曲集Once Upon a Time代表了早期gothy，而之后的Twice Upon a Time的作品更具商业性和成熟感。总体上Siouxsie and the Banshees不同于Joy Division和Bauhaus。当我们欣赏他们的乐曲中时，Banshee引导我们畅游在弦乐，Sitars采样编制的世界之中。

《 Only Theatre of Pain 》 Christian Death

在80年代年轻的Rozz Williams创建了美国最具知名度的歌特乐团Christian Death，他们是歌特一族中最具实验性和情节变化性。低成本的CD-Only Theatre of Pain最具代表性，异端宗教和邪恶的主题在Williams惊人的嗓音中得以完美的展现。同样值得推荐的Catastrophe Ballet更低调，融入歌剧的成分。Williams离队后Valor的作品有些无拘束的愚昧。

《Evening of the 24th》And Also the Trees

早期歌特运动中重要组成部分之一And Also the Trees现在已经很少被人注意了。乐队创作了大量优秀，令人悲伤的音乐，值得每个歌特音乐爱好者去体味。从技术的角度来讲And Also the Trees无法与当今的歌特一族相提并论，但这并不妨碍我们从他们的音乐中寻找真挚的情感。了解And Also the Trees的最好的方法是感受他们的现场，Evening of the 24th 中收录了乐队1986年现场演出的大量歌曲都是来自乐队最为成功之作。

《The Burning World》 The Swans

从存在的那一天起，The Swans这支乐队一直保持着地下音乐的革命性，在这一点上他们是值得尊重的。近10年来的创作和早期在音乐风格，表达方式，结构等许多方面都在变化，唯一不变的是乐队一直保持着曾几何时歌特音乐原始，诚恳的面貌。专辑The Burning World中Michael Gira以他那浓重的美国南方唱腔述说着自己的音乐理念。相当模糊但却美妙。其实Swans的优秀唱片很多，有些现在已经很难买到了，建议去找来乐队 1987年以后发行的任何唱片，相信你会喜爱上他们。

Marilyn Manson(1989）美国
Marilyn Manson既是一支来自佛罗里达的乐队的名称，又是该乐队主音歌手的名字。 这个来自美国中西部的歌手原名Brian Warner，在俄亥俄州的Canton度过孩提时代。他从小不和父母同住，向往着有朝一日成为象Ozzy Osbourne一样的个性英雄。18岁时，移居佛罗里达，在当地的Tampa湾地区从事音乐评论工作。1989年他化名Manson，遇到了吉他手Scott Mitchell(真名为Scott Putesky)。这两人一拍即合，彼此发现其对南佛罗里达音乐景象的看法极其相似。根据Manson在小型谈话节目中得到的经验和由60年代两个著名名词组合而来的名字的启发，他给Scott起名Daisy Berkowitz，分别来源于公爵Daisy的爵士乐组合和杀手David Berkowitz。在贝司手Gidget Gein和键盘手Madonna Wayne-Gracy加入之后，名为Marilyn Manson & the Spooky kids的乐队正式成立。
