else 有besides(除。。之外), otherwise（不同的）, instead（代替为的）的意思

比如:
Is there anything else that you need to add?
Is there anything besides that you need to add?
两句话都是说: 有没有任何其他除此之外还要补充的？
也就是说else在这里有附属的意思

或

Is there anything else to that?
Is there anything otherwise than that?
两句话都是说：有没有任何其他不同的?
也就是说else也起“不同的”所用的意思

或

Is there anything else from that?
Is there anything instead of that?
两句话都是说：有没有任何其他替代哪个的？
因此证明了else也有“代替为的意思”

other 有除了的成分 可理解为in addition （另外的)

比如：
Is there anything other than that?
Is there anything in addition to that?
有没有更多其他的？

总体来说 else 有比较多一点替代的成分，other 只是说另外的/更多的

还有我建议学英语最好是用英语字典来查字
因为英语解释的确切 而且你用中文字典 我想你查else和other的时候就是因为两个的definition都是："另外的" 才造成你分不清吧？所以说英文字典解释英文字是最好的
任何语言都是这样 一个老外学中文也应该用中文字典来查中文字
