应该是：
If you were sorry, then why were you doing it?
这里是用过去进行时代替过去将来时。
人家是电影，人家在说话，哪儿有说话还讲语法规则的，是忌讳学英语老讲语法

are口语讲得快就听不清楚了
would rather＋that从句＋一般过去时：It is vital／ necessary／ important／ urgent／ imperative／ desirable／ advisable／ natural／ essential＋that＋动词原形；It is time／about time／high time＋that＋一般过去时：proposal／suggestion＋that＋动词原形；lest＋that＋should＋动词原形；if only＋that＋would＋动词原形。
而上面的句子中没有这些词所以不能用would do（原型的形式）~~
