中国与外国的不同风俗习惯
我就美国人和中国人的不同风俗习惯来比较?
Meeting friends on the street

1 When meeting friends or colleagues on the street, Americans usually ask “how are you? What is up? what is new?" while Chinese will usually ask," Did you eat your/lunch/dinner? Where are you going? How are you doing recently?
Inviting friends over for dinner
Americans wear their shoes in their houses. They won't ask their guests to take off their shoes. Chinese people usually wear slippers in the houses and they will ask their guests to change the shoes by the doormat.
When the food is brought up to the dinning table, Americans will say, "Help you. Would you like to try this? This is ....Would you like to take a bite?" Could you pass me that plate please?
Chinese people usually prepare far more food than they can actually consume and even when the whole table is full of food, they still keep saying that "We didn't have any good food today. Or we have very little food today. Sorry about that. Hope you don't mind our simple food and our shabby room here. Please eat more. "Eat! Eat! Eat more!" and they will actually put the dish onto your plate without asking your permission.
3.Talking about children
When Americans talk about their children, they will be very proud to tell you what their children study, what they do for a living even some of their children's occupations are not considered as noble by the Chinese. When Chinese parents talk about their children, they try their best to tell how talented their child is. But when they talk to their child face to face, they will say how smart other children are, how lazy their own child is.
