我觉得应该，这个 5 minutes 钟没有限定时间段的词如：a，another，other所以不能表示一个完整的时间段，不能用单数，下面的就可以，你仔细区别一下：
There is another 5 minutes left.
有时候做主语时整段限定词可以省略如上面的：
ten days is enough.
第二句，there be的be用单数还是复数要看后面的名词，五分钟当然是复数，后面的minute已经加了s
there was only 5 minutes left.因为时间不可数如:ten days is enough.
都错了，应是There was only 5 minutes' left.其中，was是is的过去时，因为left是过去时态。
