Mold design模具设计,以下一些英文介绍,可以参考些:)~

An integral part of the design of any mold is, of course, the design and detailing of the moldbase. Mold designers need a design tool that is easy to use, performs repeated tasks automatically, produces 3D solid models that update with changes to design parts, and enables capture of in-house design knowledge that can be reused in subsequent designs.
The Solution
Much more than just a library, Pro/ENGINEER Expert Moldbase provides "smart" moldbases and mold components that handle this job of moldbase design, detailing, and creation. When components are placed, operations such as clearance cuts and drilled and tapped holes are automatically performed on the appropriate neighboring plates and components, thereby relieving the mold designer of time-consuming, repetitive.

Speed and timing are the keys to success in the E-Age. We are able to rely on our more than a decade of CAD/CAM experience to perform joint preliminary mold development work (ESI) with our customers. We use PRO/E and UG software to design molds and perform computerized processing of mold cores and electrodes. We employ analytical software to simulate mold flow and gain a better understanding of the various situations that may occur when plastic in injected into a mold. This enables us to insure that our design and manufacturing operations will be 100% successful.
In order to shorten the time to delivery, we have introduced Synchronous Engineering. This concept greatly shortens the mold development period: We have reduced the average time from receipt of drawings to completion of mold development from 42 working days to only 28 working days.

The segregated, departmental approach to product development creates too many obstacles to reduce time-to-market. Data translation between industrial and mechanical design has been such a problem in the past that many companies won’t attempt it. Surface continuity becomes a patchwork. Shapes are altered. The stylist’s most critical nuances get lost. The limitations to this approach indicate that companies need industrial design and styling functionality to be an integral part of a complete product development process.
NX industrial design and styling tools funnel into the larger world of NX product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions. While providing advanced, easy-to-use industrial design capabilities, NX enables companies to develop products from concept through manufacturing within one unified environment. The NX integrated solution set not only eliminates the questions of compatibility and data loss, it circumvents the costs of learning and maintaining multiple systems. Industrial designers retain the freedom to express their ideas while other groups involved in product definition maintain a high level of collaboration and complete process integration. As styling, engineering, packaging, and production work together during the development lifecycle, modifications can be made with the industrial designer’s full knowledge of the impact on aesthetic integrity

The associative nature of NX means more than just tight integration between industrial design and engineering. Associativity serves as a foundation for improving product quality, controlling costs, and reducing time to market. Because data integrity is not an issue, the ability to collaborate up front and throughout the development process frees up everyone to focus on their jobs, not their tools. Not only are concepts quickly turned into accurate surface models to define the product, but these definitions can be explored rapidly, with everyone involved, enabling immediate consensus and validation of what-if variations.

Modifiable product definitions enhance and increase the speed of communication throughout design, engineering, manufacturing, the extended enterprise, and the supply chain. Since all data is fully associative, when a change is implemented, related applications can automatically update the design to reflect the change. All of this, without restricting industrial designers to the rigid structure of a traditional CAD system.
