I am so confused that I just want to shout:How can I be born erlier?
T\G need reform...
This is the second year in my college. I want to study in America immediately after my college in Shanghai.
I need to take New T. I planned to take it in August 2006. Is it poosible ? And G is waiting for the reform...
Though I think the new G ,maybe convient for me , I still want to know is it better to take new G?

The TOEFL is nothing. I mean, if you sort of study for it, you won't have any problem with it. The only thing you need to practice hard is the speaking. They've incorprated speaking into the final score. It's fairly easy, so you don't want to lose points in speaking do you? Taking the TOEFL in August this year is perfectly okay for you I guess, if you can study it in July.

About the G, it's too early to say that. As soon as you decide when to take it, you'd better start studying for it maybe 3 months in advance, if you are in school, you should start a half year earlier. That way you will be sure, no matter you are taking the new G or the old G, you will be ready by the time the test comes.

Anyway, it all depends on yourself. If you are really good in English and everything, these exams are just a piece of cake. But if you are really having a hard time struggling to even keep up with your regular english classes in college, then you may need a lot more efforts put into toward your study of the two exams.

If you've got the time to do it before the reform, prepare for the old GRE. The question bank barely changes when the time comes to reform so it should be easier for you to revise for it.

Anyway, T is not as important or difficult as G.
