knit是针织，就是打毛线
weave是织布

weave主要是指长方形或者菱形有固定图案的编制（主要用机器的）

knit 则是指用手工编织毛衣，或者手袋之类的（更偏向于人工）

如果都只从编织上面来理解，那么weave应该是软性物体编织，比如棉布、丝线等等；knit应该通常指做硬性物体编织，比如树枝、硬化合物等等。编织以外的其它意思这里就不罗嗦了。
