Nanjing is my hometown.It has a long history and it has changed a lot over the years.

In the past,Nanjing was not a very big city.However,it was a good place.There were many beautiful rivers and lakes in it.They looked nice.We could see a lot of wild ducks and swans on them.There were also many fishing boats on them.Most people lived in the small villages around the city.The people in the country could only go to the centre of Nanjing by bicycle or on foot.

Everything has changed now.Many buses pass Nanjing and a new railway station has been in use since 2000.Now,people can take the bus,the taxi, the train or the plane to go anywhere they want to go.There are many big supermarkets, beautiful gardens and good factories in Nanjing.It is very easy to do everything here.You can see green hills, big trees and nice flowers.There are many restaurants,too.You can enjoy different kinds of local food. It tastes very delicious.Now,Nanjing attract a lot of visitors.

The changes to Nanjing have brought many advantages,but they have also caused many problems for people.There are fewer trees,and the environment is not as good as before.However,most young people feel happy because the changes have brought them a modern life.
