今年养老金调整方案:圣诞节为什么叫Xmas？

圣诞节的起源是耶稣的诞生，所以圣诞节Christmas这个单词里面藏了耶稣Christ的名字。

圣诞节在西方国家已经从一个宗教节日慢慢演变成非教徒也过的公共节日。
但是一些非教徒为了区分自己与天主基督等教徒过这个节日的目的，发明了X'mas这个词，把Christ（耶稣）变成了数学方程式里面的未知数X。
X'mas读法还是按照Christmas的读音来读，但是它的意义就在于表示自己并非教徒。

Christmas comes from CHRIST'S MASS, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. The XMAS abbreviation for Christmas is of Greek origin. The word for Christ in Greek is Xristos. During the 16th century, Europeans began using the first initial of Christ's name, "X" in place of the word Christ in Christmas as a shorthand form of the word. Although the early Christians understood that X stood for Christ's name, later Christians who did not understand the Greek language mistook "Xmas" as a sign of disrespect.

圣诞节的英文是Christmas有时又缩写为Xmas，这可能是因为X类似于希腊字母Χ(Chi)，这个字母是"Christ"(基督)在希腊语(Χριστ?? [Christos])中的首字母。
