-watch lots of movies(in english of coz), pay attention to subtitles
-read books, pick ones you like
-talk with people who are good at english, ask them to correct you if you say something wrong
-DO NOT just memorize the words, understand them, use them
trust me if you just memorize without any practice, it will be forgotten soon enough
-practice, practice, it makes perfect

我来美国快5年了，现在快大学毕业了。学好英语，就要多练。尽量把你刚学会的vocabulary用在与别人的对话中，不用死记硬背的记，看到多了，用了多了，听了多了，自然就掌握了。

背多少单词不是首要的事情，重要的是你能不能很快融入到当地环境中并发挥你的价值。
所以正如楼上一位朋友“talk to Americans as often as you can ”，刚开始的确有个适应的过程，有专家统计是六个月。所以抓住国内朋友没有的环境这个机会是非常重要的，老是背单词何必要出国？don't be shy,加油吧！
