You can choose a College yourself and send your application directly to that College, or you can make an 'open' application and accept the allocation made by a computer program. Open applications should be sent to the Cambridge Admissions Office (CAO). In either case, we must receive your CAF by 15 October of the year before entry. Once your CAF has been received it will be acknowledged by your chosen College. Open applications are allocated to Colleges as soon as possible after the closing date.
