Chris Noth has received a Golden Globe® nomination for his performance as Mr. Big and has made a lasting impression on Sex and the City audiences.

Noth is an alumni of the Yale School of Drama. His training as an actor comes from a rich tradition of theater along with fellow graduates Sam Waterston, Sigourney Weaver, and Meryl Streep.

On stage, Noth has performed at the American Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Connecticut as well as at New York's Manhattan Theatre Club, Circle Rep, La Mama, The Roundabout Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theater and the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. His range as a stage actor extends from the role of Hamlet, in a production directed by Zoe Caldwell to the southern drama of the Pulitzer prize-winning "The Kentucky Cycle" to the word play of George Bernard Shaw's "Arms and the Man".

Recently Noth returned to the stage playing a successful novelist in Chistopher Shinn's "What Didn't Happen". In 2001, he completed a successful Broadway run of Gore Vidal's "The Best Man". In the role of Senator Joe Cantwell, Noth starred opposite Charles Durning, Spalding Gray, Elizabeth Ashley, Christine Ebersole and Michael Learned.

Prior to his role as Sex and the City's Mr. Big, on television, Noth was best known as Detective Mike Logan on "Law & Order" for five seasons. He appeared in the made-for-television movies "Exiled", "Rough Riders", "Where Are My Children?", "Abducted: A Father's Love" and "The Judge" also starring Lolita Davidovich, Sonia Braga and Edward James Olmos. Next up, Noth stars as the Roman general Pompey in TNT epic mini-series Caesar opposite Christopher Walken and the late Richard Harris.

His credits include the independent films "Texas Funeral", "Getting to Know You", "The Broken Giant", "Cold Around the Heart", "Naked in New York" and "The Confession".

Noth was also featured in the Academy Award® nominated Robert Zemeckis film "Cast Away" starring Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt; the thriller "The Glass House" directed by Daniel Sackheim with Leelee Sobieski, Diane Lane and Stellan Skarsgard; the independent film "Searching for Paradise" directed by Myra Paci featuring Jeremy Davies, Josef Sommer and Mary Louise Wilson; and more recently in Tom DiCillo's "Double Whammy" opposite Denis Leary and Elizabeth Hurley.
