Read more everyday. I think when you first read something you should just try to get the general meaning and not worry about words you don't understand. Often you can understand the meaning of them from the whole story. English is my native languange and when I read a book I do not read EVERY WORD, I skip many words but still understand the meaning. IF you can learn to do this, then your reading level will be great. When you read the story the first time you can highlight or underline words you don't understand, then after reading the whole story underline them.

There are also some books in MP3 format so you can listen to them being read.
